1Do international students have to register every semester?

Yes. Every student should report and register at the beginning of the autumn and spring semesters at the SIEC according to the specified report and registration time. Those who cannot register as scheduled should apply for leave of absence in advance. Those who fail to apply for leave of absence or those who expire to register after the leave of absence will be dealt with according to the regulations.


2How to pay the fees?

You should pay the tuition fee for the next academic year to the bank account, WeChat or Alipay financial account designated by the school before the registration date set by the school in each academic year.


3Do I need to buy my own insurance?

All international students studying in China must purchase their own comprehensive international student insurance in advance. For details of the terms and conditions of international student insurance, please refer to the website of Study in China Insurance: http://www.lxbx.net/.


4Do I need to apply for a leave of absence if I can't go to class?

Yes, you need to apply for leave of absence. If international students are unable to attend the courses or activities stipulated by the university due to illness or other reasons, they should apply for leave of absence in time, or else they will be regarded as absent from classes.


5Can I take a leave of absence or retain my academic record?

International students can apply for suspension or retention of study status due to injury, illness or other special reasons. The application should be made by the student himself/herself and submitted to the Teaching Affairs Office of SIEC with relevant documents.


6How to apply for resumption of study after suspension or retention?

Upon the expiration of the suspension or retention period, international students should apply for resumption of study to SIEC in time. The application should be made by the student himself/herself with relevant supporting documents (a certificate from the hospital is required if the student is suspended from school for physical reasons), and the tuition fee should be paid before the application for resumption of study can be processed. Students who leave the university without applying for suspension or retention of their academic status according to the regulations of the university or who fail to resume their studies on time at the expiration of the suspension or retention period will be dealt with in accordance with the relevant regulations.


7What should international students do if they violate the regulations and school discipline?

International students must abide by Chinese laws, regulations and school rules and respect Chinese social morals and customs. Those who violate Chinese laws and constitute crimes will be punished according to the law; those who violate school rules and regulations will be punished according to the school management regulations.


8Do international students need to inform the relevant teachers of any changes in their passport, mobile phone number, accommodation address, email address, etc.?

Yes, it is very important. International students are required to inform the Students Affairs Office of SIEC of any change in their passport, mobile phone number, lodging address, email address and other important information at the first opportunity (within 24 hours is recommended).
