In order to let international students understand and experience the cultural customs of the Chinese traditional Dragon Boat Festival, SIEC (School of International Education and Cooperation) held a cultural experience activity of " Zongzi Fragrance at Dragon Boat Festival" on the afternoon of June 6. The event attracted teachers from SIEC, Chinese students, and more than 20 international students from India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Indonesia and other countries to participate together.

At the event site, the host first introduced the origin, cultural background of the Dragon Boat Festival and the historical story of Qu Yuan's investment in the river, so that the overseas students had a deep understanding of Qu Yuan's patriotic feelings. Then, the host explained in detail the traditional customs of the Dragon Boat Festival, such as wrapping Zongzi, hanging wormwood, and racing Dragon Boat, which gave foreign students a more comprehensive understanding of the Dragon Boat Festival. In the process of making sachets and tasting delicious Zongzi together, Chinese and foreign students incorporated their longing for a better life and their yearning for their families, further deepening their understanding and recognition of Chinese traditional culture.

As stated in "Civilizations communicate because of diversity, learning from each other and developing because of mutual learning", this activity not only gave foreign students a deep understanding of the traditional culture of the Dragon Boat Festival, but also enhanced the friendship and mutual understanding between Chinese and foreign students. SIEC will continue to hold various Chinese cultural experience activities in the future, aiming to provide international students with more opportunities to understand Chinese culture and integrate into Chinese society, and cultivate new era international students who are "Knowing China, Friendly to China, and loving China".
