On the afternoon of January 15th, NSMC (North Sichuan Medical College) organized a launch meeting for the quality certification of program of undergraduate clinical medicine education (taught in English) for international students studying in China. Du Yong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Principal of NSMC, He Yongbin and Zhang Bo, Vice Presidents, functional departments such as the Human Resources Department and the Academic Affairs Office, as well as leaders of relevant secondary education colleges and departments attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Du Yong.
Xiao Fengling, Dean of SIEC (School of International Education and Cooperation), introduced the management structure and policies, the education and teaching situation of our university's international students in China, and the development of the BMEIS project from three aspects. Liu Shangqing, Vice Dean of SIEC, introduced the BMEIS project quality certification rules based on documents such as the "Management Measures for the Recruitment and Training of International Students in Schools" (Order No. 42 of the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Public Security), "Quality Standards for Higher Education of International Students in China (Trial)" (Jiao Wai [2018] No. 50), and "Quality Control Standards for Undergraduate Education in Clinical Medicine for International Students in China (Trial)" Standards and requirements.
The participating units had in-depth discussions on the teaching staff of our university for international students, the enrollment situation of international students in China, and the current problems, and unanimously expressed their full cooperation to do a good job in the quality certification of the BMEIS project.
University leaders Zhang Bo and He Yongbin emphasized that the education of international students in China is an important part of our university's development, and we need to take advantage of the quality certification of this project to improve the quality of education and teaching for international students in China; And we also need to clarify responsibilities, work together, make certification work practical and detailed, and complete all work tasks on time and with quality.
Principal Du Yong put forward three requirements in his concluding speech:
Firstly, to unify thinking and improve standing;
Secondly, we must focus on overall planning and coordination, without shifting blame;
Thirdly is to take quality certification as an opportunity, promote construction, improvement, and strength through evaluation, and strive to pass the BMEIS project quality certification with excellent results.
