
General Secretary Xi emphasized the need to vigorously promote the construction of the "Study in China" brand, tell Chinese stories, disseminate Chinese experiences, and voice Chinese voices, in order to enhance the international influence and discourse power of China's education. In the new era, facing a large number of medical students studying in China, it is of great practical significance to do a good job in international medical Chinese education, and help achieve "quality and efficiency improvement" in education for studying in China.
In order to further summarize the advanced experience of international medical Chinese education in colleges and universities across the country, and deepen the understanding of the characteristics of medical Chinese education, the 2024 Mount Taishan Forum for Collaborative Innovation and Development of International Medical Chinese Education was held in Tai'an, Shandong Province, from May 15 to 17, 2024, under the support of the "Funding Plan for Global Chinese Education Themed Academic Activities" of the World Association for Chinese Language Teaching. More than 100 teachers and leaders from medical colleges across the country attended the conference.
At the meeting, Teacher Yang Chunyun from North Sichuan Medical College gave a report on the teaching model and teacher development of Chinese as a foreign language for MBBS international students based on teacher reflection. From the aspects of teaching experience, teaching confusion, teacher reflection, teaching reform, teaching reform effectiveness, and teacher development. She introduced how she overcame the fatigue period of teaching Chinese as a foreign language teacher, and how SIEC (School of International Education and Cooperation) of North Sichuan Medical College gradually formed a distinctive teaching model for Chinese as a foreign language in local medical colleges. At the meeting, Yang Chunyun also proposed to strengthen cooperation and exchange among similar universities, which received full recognition from the attending teachers.
