On the morning of July 6, 2023, The Teaching and Research Office of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language of SIEC (School of International Education and Cooperation) held the year-end academic seminar for the second semester of the 2022-2023 academic year in the conference room on the 12th floor of the Library Information Building. The seminar was chaired by Xiao Fengling, the dean of SIEC, with the participation of all teachers from the Teaching and Research Office of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language.
Firstly, Secretary Duan Shaoqi reported on the various tasks accomplished during this semester. These tasks primarily include:
8 teachers completed 502 hours of Chinese language teaching across 10 courses.
Successfully applied for five projects in the 2023 Undergraduate Teaching Project for International Students.
Organized some teachers to participate in the International Symposium on Collaborative Innovation and Development of Medical Chinese Education, and delivering keynote speeches.
Smoothly conducted the first HSK4 and HSKK examinations.
Coordinated the participation of overseas students graduating in July 2023 in the online HSK examination.
Subsequently, Xiao Fengling highlighted the key tasks for the summer and upcoming semester, which are:
Further improving the relevant course archives of the Teaching and Research Office, and strengthening internal management.
Advancing the standardization, normalization, and specialization of curriculum development, as well as constructing and refining the Chinese language curriculum system.
Enhancing the promotion of our university’s HSK examination center, and fostering its sustained and healthy development.
Finally, Xiao Fengling hopes that each teacher can embrace the challenges with a positive attitude and excel in completing the work tasks of the new semester.
