Our school's international students participate in the "Approaching the old Revolutionary Base Area and Perceiving the Chinese Spirit" internship activity

From September 26th to 27th, the Nanchong People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the International College of West China Normal University, and the School Of International Education Cooperation (SIEC) of North Sichuan Medical College jointly launched the " Approaching the old Revolutionary Base Area and Perceiving the Chinese Spirit " Nanchong International Students' Internship Activity. Thirteen foreign students from our school participated in this internship activity.

On the morning of the 26th, the first stop of the international students walked into the memorial hall of Zhu De's former residence in Yilong County. The whole hall area was divided into five exhibition halls, including: the diligent and brave children of tenant farmers, Writing and fighting, Defending the country and Conquer Yuan Shikai, Seeking truth, Traveling to Europe to study, Nanchang Uprising, Jinggang Army meeting, Long March, Eight years of Anti-Japanese War, the War of Liberation, and State activities. With abundant pictures, detailed historical materials and precious cultural relics, it tells the story of Zhu De's magnificent revolutionary career. The international students listened carefully to the revolutionary stories of a generation of Chinese great men, felt his patriotic feelings, and deeply sensed the red revolutionary spirit of the Chinese Communists, which was "courage to fight and unremitting exploration".

On the afternoon of the 26th, the students came to the Red Army Memorial Hall in Changpingshan, Southern County for their second stop. The international students listened with interest to the narrator's introduction of the scenes of the Red Fourth Front Army's life and operations in Changpingshan, as well as the process of salt mining and production. The museum also restored the scene through physical objects, clay sculptures, and images, allowing students to more intuitively experience the revolutionary spirit of the Red Army soldiers, their unwavering ideals and beliefs a spirit of enduring hardships and an indomitable optimism.

On the evening of 26th, during the practical activities, the international students also learned more about Chinese traditional culture and customs through Mid Autumn DIY activities, including hand-made moon cakes, dumplings, rice dumpling, etc. Our international students BOATEMAA GRIFFITHS and SHILA MST SHAMSIARA said in an interview with the media, "It's very interesting to celebrate the Mid Autumn Festival in China. Mid Autumn mooncakes are really delicious, and I made some myself to eat.”

On the morning of the 27th, the students visited the former residence of Zhang Lan on the third stop to learn about the life of Zhang Lan, a passionate democrat and patriot who lived a hard and simple life and paid great attention to self-cultivation.

During the two-day learning events, international students carefully watched and listened to the revolutionary deeds of the Chinese revolutionary predecessors who worked tirelessly and fearlessly; They visited exhibition halls one by one, watched precious cultural relics, paragraphs of written historical materials, listened to moving revolutionary stories one by one, filled with emotion, shocked ideologically, and had a deeper understanding and recognition of the revolutionary history and struggle history of the CPC.

This learning events provided a lively Chinese social practice lesson for international students, which allowed them to learn the glorious revolutionary history of the CPC, further deepen their understanding of the CPC, and also helped them better "Understanding China" and understand Nanchong.
