At 3:00 p.m. on February 19, 2023, SIEC organized the opening ceremony of the 2022-2023 academic year in 207 of the Library and Information Building. Xiao Fengling, dean of SIEC, relevant staff of the College and all international students attended the opening ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Jiang Qinling, a teacher of international student department.

The opening ceremony was officially kicked off when all teachers and students stood up and sang "Song of Northern Sichuan Medical College". Xiao Fengling made a welcome speech. Xiao Fengling warmly welcomed the arrival of all international students and hoped that all international students could understand contemporary China in a multi-dimensional and all-round way and promote cultural exchanges. Xiao Fengling sent a message to overseas students to cherish their time at school, work hard for their medical dreams.

Finally, Pu Changsong, teacher of the Academic Affairs Department, introduced the relevant contents of the Regulations on the Management of Student Status of International Students and distributed the internship materials to the students of the internship grades. Teacher Jiang Qinling and Liu Gangcai gave safety education to all international students, and distributed student manuals and life study guides for new students to help them quickly adapt to the study and life on campus.
