On the morning of April 21, 2023, Zhang Xianyong together with a group of six from the Exit and Entry Management Team of the Gaoping District Public Security Bureau of Nanchong City came to NSMC to hold a meeting on international student management with SICE (School of International Education and Cooperation) in the conference room on the 12th floor of the Library and Information Building. Xiao Fengling, Dean of SIEC, and relevant department heads and staff participated in this meeting.

At the meeting, the Exit and Entry Management Team of the Gaoping District Public Security Bureau first had a friendly communication with international students on campus. Regarding the suggestions of putting forward by international students of the application of residence permits and other business, they expressed their willingness to continuously improve their service level.

Then, the Exit and Entry Management Team of the Gaoping District Public Security Bureau and SIEC conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on the management status of international students. At the same time, negotiations were conducted on the work that needs further improvement and consensus was reached.

Both parties agree that the management of international students in China involves a wide range of aspects, and there are no small matters related to foreign affairs. SIEC and local authorities need to closely cooperate and exchange information, fully leverage the advantages of all parties, and ensure that international students can have a harmonious learning and living environment.

The meeting had further promoted the coordination and cooperation between the University and the local government in the management of international students.
