To comply with the development trend of "new medical education" and further promote the high-quality development of international Chinese education, the "International Medical Chinese Education Collaborative Innovation and Development Seminar" was held as scheduled from April 26th to 28th, 2023 at the Lida Shenzhen International Hotel in Yinchuan, Ningxia. A total of 47 universities from across the country (including Sichuan University, Suzhou University, Tianjin Medical University, Xinjiang Shihezi University, Southern Medical University, Zhejiang Chinese Medicine University, etc.) with over 115 teachers in attendance. Xiao Fengling, Dean of the SEIC (School of International Education and Cooperation) of NSMC (North Sichuan Medical College), along with Yang Chunyun, Associate Professor of the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Office and Duan Shaoqi, Secretary of the Teaching and Research Office participated in this seminar.

During the seminar, Professor Ma Xiaole and Professor Wang Yaomei from Shandong University, Professor Chen Jun from Southern Medical University, Professor Liu Zheng from Ningxia Medical University, Professor Fu Ning from Shandong First Medical University, and Professor Tian Jing from Qingdao University respectively introduced the current situation of "Chinese language + " education and teaching at their respective universities. They also shared various achievements that have been made in international Chinese education. The meeting was a complete success.

Our teacher, Yang Chunyun, gave a keynote report at the conference on the topic of "MBBS International Students' 'Professional + Cultural' Teaching Model for Chinese Language". She introduced the difficult development process of Chinese language teaching at SIEC of NSMC, the innovation and development vision of teaching models in local medical colleges, and the specific measures and achievements in achieving educational reform goals. Her report received wide resonance from the attending teacher representatives. During the conference, Yang Chunyun also shared her experience in compiling the "Clinical Medical Chinese Conversation Course", introducing in detail its content, features, and target audience. Her presentation was fully recognized by attending teachers.

Through the seminar, our school has exchanged and promoted the new model of "MBBS International Students 'Professional + Cultural' Teaching and Student Practice Ability Development" in local medical colleges, which has been practiced for many years. We will take this opportunity to learn from the successful experiences of other universities and conduct deeper exploration in Chinese language classroom teaching, further improving the teaching and research abilities of Chinese language teachers. At the same time, in combination with educational reform and student needs, with strong support from school leaders and academic affairs offices at all levels, we will deepen educational exchange and cooperation, continue to develop supporting teaching materials and complete multimedia teaching courseware, provide high-quality Chinese learning resources for international students studying in China, promote Chinese medicine and culture going global, and make positive contributions to the construction of the "Belt and Road", international student education, and the dissemination of Chinese excellent culture.
