To promote traditional Chinese culture and foster cultural exchange between China and other nations, a festive Mid-Autumn celebration themed "Under the Same Moon" took place on the evening of September 11th aboard the Jialing Huafang, a boat on the Jialing River in Nanchong. Seventeen international students from North Sichuan Medical College, along with their teachers from the International Education and Exchange Department, gathered to celebrate this cherished festival.

The event kicked off promptly at 5 p.m. with teachers from the Jiahu Academy introducing the students to the origins and rich cultural significance of the Mid-Autumn Festival. Through the guided appreciation of classical poems related to the festival, the students not only gained insight into the beauty of the ancient literary works but also a deeper understanding of the festival’s themes of family reunion and harmony.Next, teachers from Nanchong Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital demonstrated the Baduanjin, a traditional Chinese exercise routine designed to promote health and well-being. The students eagerly followed the moves, experiencing firsthand the seamless blend of ancient Chinese wisdom and modern health practices. The festivities continued with a hands-on session led by a teacher in dough figurine art, an intangible cultural heritage of China. Under careful guidance, the students sculpted colorful dough into lively representations of the Jade Rabbit, an iconic figure associated with the festival. Laughter filled the air as everyone immersed themselves in the joy of this traditional craft.Later, a master baker, inheritor of the local delicacy Yima Bing (a type of sesame cake), taught the students how to make and enjoy this regional specialty. The unique flavors of the sesame cakes won everyone over, adding a delightful culinary highlight to the evening. As night fell and the full moon illuminated the sky, the students embarked on a moonlit cruise along the Jialing River. While indulging in Yima Bing and traditional mooncakes, they took in the scenic beauty of the riverbanks, enjoying the peaceful and mesmerizing views under the radiant moon.

The "Under the Same Moon" event provided the international students with an opportunity not only to explore and experience the richness of Chinese traditional culture but also to deepen their understanding of the Mid-Autumn Festival. This festive evening of warmth and joy fostered a stronger connection between cultures, allowing the students to feel the comforting presence of "home" through the shared celebration.
