To enhance international students’ awareness and skills in emergency response, improve their ability to handle critical situations, and foster interaction and cooperation between Chinese and international students, the School of International Education and Cooperation hosted a clinical emergency skills training on November 16. The event, organized by the Student International Communication Association (SICA) and the Emergency Aid Association of North Sichuan Medical College, took place in classrooms 1203 and 1204 of the Library Building on the Gaoping Campus.
The training featured bilingual instruction, covering essential emergency procedures such as CPR, the Heimlich maneuver, and wound dressing. Instructors provided detailed explanations of emergency response processes, step-by-step procedures, and key considerations, emphasizing the importance of timely and effective action. During hands-on practice sessions, students were divided into groups to perform CPR and wound dressing exercises. Using manikins, participants not only mastered proper emergency techniques but also learned to remain calm and act swiftly in urgent situations. To reinforce the training and deepen understanding, the session included an interactive Q&A segment. Students enthusiastically engaged, consolidating their knowledge while building connections and friendships through active participation.
The success of this clinical emergency skills training underscores the School of International Education and Cooperation’s strong commitment to the safety education of its international students. The school plans to continue offering a variety of training programs to help students adapt more effectively to their academic and daily lives in China.
