In order to enhance the fire safety awareness of our international students and improve their self-protection and emergency self rescue abilities, on the afternoon of July 10th 2024, SIEC (School of International Education and Cooperation), in conjunction with the Shunqing District Fire Rescue Bureau of Nanchong City, successfully held a fire safety themed lecture and safety education themed class meeting.
In the lecture, Cao Rongdong, the deputy captain of the Fire Rescue Bureau, vividly demonstrated to international students the harmfulness and cruelty of fires, as well as how to choose the correct way to self rescue in emergency situations, through various methods such as fire warning educational videos and picture case explanations. At the same time, he sounded the alarm of fire safety for everyone with real events. He emphasized that the key to prevent fires lies in raising safety awareness and complying with safety regulations, such as not littering cigarette butts or illegally connecting wires.

At the lecture, firefighters not only personally demonstrated the correct operation steps of fire extinguishers, but also explained in detail how to use ropes and other objects to self rescue and assist others in escaping at the fire scene. International students have stepped forward to practice and actively participated, deepening their understanding and mastery of fire safety skills through practical operations, and gaining a deeper understanding of the importance of fire safety.
After the lecture, SIEC continued the pre summer safety education themed class meeting. At the class meeting, multiple precautions were emphasized, including holiday safety and the system for requesting and canceling leave. At the same time, the newly revised "Disciplinary Measures for Illegal and Disciplinary Actions of International Students from North Sichuan Medical College" (revised) were explained and distributed, as well as issues related to reporting and registration for the new semester. The school kindly reminded international students to strictly abide by Chinese laws, regulations, and university rules during the holiday period, maintain healthy sleep habits, and ensure a safe and enjoyable summer vacation.
The successful hosting of the fire safety lecture for international students and the pre summer safety education themed class meeting not only enhanced their awareness of fire safety and their ability to self rescue and protect themselves, but also laid a solid foundation for campus safety. In the future, SEIC will continue to deepen comprehensive safety education and work together to create a safe, harmonious, and stable campus atmosphere.
