To help the new international students of the 2024 cohort gain a deeper understanding of the profound Chinese silk culture and the achievements of technological agriculture under the rural revitalization strategy, the School of International Education and Cooperation organized a cultural study tour themed “Walking the Silk Road, Exploring Smart Agriculture” on December 8.

In the morning, the international students visited the Liuhe Silk Expo Park in Dujing Town, Gaoping, where they toured the silk production equipment exhibition hall, the world silk origin site, Liuhe Courtyard, and experienced the Liuhe mini train. This allowed them to gain a deeper understanding of the history and culture of Chinese silk. Following this, the students headed to the Gaoping China-France Agricultural Science and Technology Park, where they visited the circular agriculture park. Here, they witnessed the efficient demonstration zone of modern agriculture, which perfectly integrates technology with nature, and gained insight into the development of Chinese rural agriculture and the new agricultural concept combining agriculture, culture, and tourism.

Through this activity, the international students not only deepened their understanding of Chinese silk culture but also experienced the vibrant energy of China’s rural revitalization. The experience enriched their lives in China and facilitated deeper integration and exchange with the local culture in Nanchong.
